The Elimbah East External Works Project comprises three concurrent contracts for Elimbah Goldfields Pty Ltd at 530 Pumicestone Road, Elimbah, delivering external road upgrades and major water and sewer infrastructure. The roadworks include the reconstruction and widening of McGarry Road and Pumicestone Road, including the Clinker Road and Granite Place intersection, with associated earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, traffic signals, street lighting and landscaping. 

The utilities component includes more than 2km of new watermain and over 7km of sewer pipeline, supported by five watermain and 13 sewer micro tunnels beneath major transport corridors, live service tie-ins and a 9.5m-deep sewer wet well. Works also incorporate deep manholes, pressure mains, road reinstatement, environmental and traffic management, testing and commissioning, with completed assets handed over to Unitywater. 

Key Achievements

  • Early Project Completion & Critical Milestones, Winslow completed works ahead of the original Practical Completion date, achieving the successful Optus line cutover on McGarry Road and Stage 1 traffic switch on Pumicestone Road. 
  • Complex Utilities & Infrastructure Delivery, Winslow delivered a multi-package utilities program incorporating live service tie-ins, micro tunnelling beneath the Bruce Highway, and construction and commissioning of a 9.5m-deep sewer pump station and extensive water and sewer networks, with successful asset handover to Unitywater. 
  • Proactive Planning & Delivery Efficiency, Winslow applied forward planning, early authority engagement and coordinated construction staging across concurrent work fronts, including an optimised road profiling methodology that halved the expected road box-out cost on McGarry Road.
