Women of Winslow

The Women of Winslow is an ongoing initiative across the Group.

Its purpose is to encourage our female employees to stay connected with each other and the wider business.

It provides the opportunity to have conversations that can help support each other when they may sometimes feel isolated on site, together with providing the opportunity to foster mentoring.

Women of Winslow focuses on:

  • Building internal relationships and connections with each other,
  • Increasing knowledge and awareness of the business,
  • Learning from each other and inspiring each other,
  • Understanding career pathways and development opportunities to empower women to make confident career choices,
  • Mentoring and increasing positive role modelling through stronger connections with likeminded colleagues

Women of Winslow not only builds the positive visibility of women in our business, but also provides important opportunities for women to build sustainable connections and relationships among each other.

Women of Winslow highlights and celebrates positive role modelling of women in positions across our business, demonstrating capability and diversity that will inspire and empower future generations of women to confidently pursue the many opportunities that Winslow offers.

Women od Winslow 2

At the launch of Women of Winslow, a “very proud” Amelia Rizzo, General Counsel for the Winslow Group, addressed women from around the Group.

“I am very proud to be here today to recognise the unique value that women bring to Winslow, and to show the commitment of the Winslow Group to do more to support and help women so that they can thrive,” Amelia said.

Amelia spoke of the challenges of being a woman in the construction industry and recognised the positive changes which have already occurred in the industry over the last decade.

She encouraged women to explore different opportunities within the organisation and not to hesitate in asking peers or managers for advice.

“I know you must all like a challenge, you wouldn’t be working in the construction industry if you didn’t, but don’t be afraid to move around, try new roles, voice new ideas and find where your true potential lies,” Amelia said.

You can’t be what you can’t see.
