Winslow in the Community

Winslow is an active supporter of various charity organisations and causes that we hold close to our heart. Supporting the community and being involved in such causes as Pink Ribbon Day and Movember for Men’s Cancer & Depression, is an integral part of the Winslow staff culture, and allows our company the opportunity to give back to the community.

We are also proud to support the inspiring work of the following organisations. Please click on the below for more information about the wonderful work these organisations do

Canteen Partner
Canteen – Opal Partner

Winslow is proud to be an Opal Partner with CanTeen. By partnering with CanTeen, Winslow is helping to create a positive future for young people whose lives have been interrupted by cancer. Every year in Australia thousands of young people are suddenly confronted with a cancer diagnosis, either as a patient, sibling or offspring.

No matter where a young person is on their cancer journey or how their life has been impacted, CanTeen provides a safe environment where they can learn how to deal with the emotional, physical and practical issues of living with cancer and take back control of their lives.

CanTeen is the only organisation in Australia that offers peer to peer support and focuses on the psychosocial needs of 12-24 year olds who are living with cancer. CanTeen Members are:

  • Cancer patients – Patient Members
  • Brothers or sisters of cancer patients – Sibling Members
  • Young people with a parent or primary carer with cancer – Offspring Members
  • Young people who have a brother, sister, parent who has died from cancer – Bereaved Sibling Members and Bereaved Offspring Members
Winslow’s support will help CanTeen to deliver psychosocial support programs to young people living with cancer. These programs are a combination of fun activities, opportunities to learn, a chance for young people to challenge themselves, build confidence and experience something new, and importantly, get a break from living with cancer. CanTeen programs also provide young people living with cancer with the opportunity to meet other young people going through similar experiences. All CanTeen programs are designed to make sure they get the strength and support they need from other young people who are just like them.
